Milestone in Laufenburg: From Now On, the Technology Center Is Only Growing Upwards
Laufenburg, September 1, 2026 – An important milestone has been reached at the construction site of the Laufenburg Technology Center: the extensive excavation work has now been successfully completed. From this point onwards, the building will gradually rise above ground.

The foundation is in place. Now we are building the future
With the completion of the earthworks, the foundation has been laid for the next crucial phase. Over the past months, more than 480,000 cubic meters of earth and gravel have been moved to create the basis for the modern building complex. With structural construction now underway, the outlines of the Technology Center are becoming increasingly visible from week to week.
“The fact that the ERNE Group, together with all participating partners, was able to complete the excavation work on schedule and without any incidents is a major achievement for the entire project team,” explains Marcel Aumer, Group CEO, Chairman of the Board and Founder of FlexBase Group. “Now we are moving ahead quickly: as the building shell takes shape, our vision of an innovation campus for energy and technology is becoming tangible.”
Work on the approximately 1.4-meter-thick foundation slab had already begun before the excavation work was completed. Progress on the construction site is clearly visible: more than 98 percent of the total area has been successfully compacted and concreted. This provides the foundation on which the building will rise over the coming months.

A promise from Switzerland, for Switzerland
FlexBase is currently 100 percent Swiss-owned. All shares are held by Swiss owners. The founder, Marcel Aumer, is the majority shareholder.
What is being developed in the canton of Aargau is pioneering for the energy future of Switzerland, Europe and the world. It is therefore possible that international investors may also acquire a stake in FlexBase in the medium to long term.
The promise is clear: FlexBase will always remain at least 51 percent Swiss-owned. Participation by foreign investors is possible; a foreign majority is not – neither today nor in the future.
